Udupi: Manipal police on Monday morning detained a 26-year-old Kerala resident and seized his luxury car for allegedly driving in a reckless and dangerous manner near the MIT Junction in Manipal.
The accused, identified as Shohail Neelakath from Kandangan, Kannur district, was reportedly driving from Udupi towards Hiriyadka with fully tinted windows, in violation of traffic norms. Witnesses alleged he was endangering lives by swerving dangerously, creating hazards for two-wheelers and other vehicles, and generating extremely loud noise.
Police pursued the vehicle and managed to stop it near the MIT Junction. The driver was taken into custody, and a case has been registered at the Manipal police station.
