The police became aware of the illegal operation on Nov 9, following a tip-off about a lottery being conducted in Shirva village. Upon investigation, Sub-inspector Pavan Nayak and his team confirmed the involvement of Manoj, who was operating a WhatsApp group called ‘MJ Kattada Kori Lucky Draw’ with 340 members. Participants paid Rs 200 each via Google Pay to join the draw, with the chance to win chickens or cashback.
