In a tragic incident in the Koppa division of Chikkamagaluru district, thirty monkeys, including four young ones, were found dead under mysterious circumstances. According to officials, preliminary investigations suggest that the monkeys were allegedly fed a poisonous substance and subsequently beaten to death.
The exact cause of death will only be confirmed after post-mortem examinations are conducted. Initial inquiries indicate that after consuming the toxic substance, the monkeys lost consciousness and were then brutally attacked with blunt weapons. Their bodies were later disposed of in a forest area.
