National rally champion Ranjith Ballal dies in tragic road accident

Renowned national car racing champion Ranjith Ballal (59) lost his life in a road accident on Monday near Kundapur, Karnataka. The mishap occurred on National Highway 66, between Kundapur and Byndoor, when his motorcycle collided with an auto trolley carrying gas cylinders.

Ranjith was returning from a family trip to Goa, with his family members traveling in a car behind him. The accident reportedly happened when the auto driver suddenly slowed down due to a road closure, leaving Ranjith unable to avoid the collision.

A celebrated rally racer, Ranjith had won over 100 trophies during his illustrious career. He was also a mentor to aspiring racers, playing a significant role in nurturing young talent.

The racing community mourns the loss of a legend whose contributions extended far beyond the track.
