The much-anticipated 5th edition of POWER Parba is set to take place from February 7 to 9 at Christian PU College, Udupi. Organized by the central government in partnership with the MSME PMS Scheme and the District Industries Centre (DIC), the event promises to be a significant milestone for women entrepreneurship.
Leading up to the main event, a pre-event POWER rally will be held on February 5 at 3:30 PM, beginning from Rajathadri, Manipal, and concluding in Udupi. The rally will be flagged off by Cdr Dr Anil Rana, director of MIT Manipal.
POWER (Platform of Women Entrepreneurs Regd.), an Udupi-based NGO, has been empowering women for over 16 years. It launched POWER Parba in 2016 to create a larger platform for women-led businesses. The inaugural ceremony will be graced by Dr Kavita Mishra, an agropreneur from Hubli, as the chief guest, with Dr K Vidya Kumari, IAS, performing the lamp-lighting ceremony. The event will also feature skill development workshops on Channapatna toy making, pottery, and Kaavi art.
Visitors can look forward to cultural performances, including innovative coastal dances, fashion shows, and thrilling dance acts. The event will prioritize security, eco-friendliness, and health services, offering free check-ups.
A standout feature will be the ‘POWER STAR’ award, recognizing seven women achievers for their remarkable contributions across various fields.
