Udupi: An auto rickshaw carrying school children overturned near the Pump House area of Kelaparkala, Eshwar Nagar, on the evening of November 11, raising concerns about road safety in the area. The accident occurred when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle.
Eight children were in the auto at the time of the accident, and three of them sustained serious injuries, including fractures to their legs, arms, and pelvis. The other children sustained minor injuries. Locals were alarmed by the incident, which adds to the growing number of vehicle accidents in the region.
The Manipal Police responded quickly to the scene, initiating the necessary procedures and beginning an investigation into the cause of the accident. Authorities are looking into the circumstances that led to the mishap, including the driver’s actions and any potential road hazards.
