Udupi: The 17th coronation anniversary of Mahamandaleshwar 1008 Sri Swami Sadguru Brahmananda Saraswati Maharaj, head of the Jagadguru Peeth of Sri Ram Kshetra Mahasamsthan, will be celebrated with grand Vedic rituals on September 3 at 11 am at the Sri Ram Kshetra Mahasamsthan Trust premises.

Addressing a press conference, K. Raghupathi Bhat, Honorary President of the Trust, announced that the event will witness participation from ministers, MLAs, MPs, former legislators, and prominent office bearers of religious and social organisations.

Sri Ram Kshetra – The ‘Ayodhya of the South’

As envisioned by Atmananda Saraswati Swamiji, the founder of Sri Ram Kshetra, the institution has been instrumental in promoting spiritual, cultural, and social values across the country.

Mahamandaleshwar Brahmananda Saraswati Maharaj has established several branch monasteries, including one under construction at Ram Janmabhoomi, Ayodhya, further strengthening the spiritual bond between north and south India.

Chaturmasya Vrata and religious events

The Swamiji has been conducting Chaturmasya Vrata Charchana for the past six years, with this year’s programme held between July 10 and August 20 at the Konalli Vanadurga Temple in Kumuta Taluk, Uttara Kannada district.

The observance included daily religious and cultural events such as:

  • Bhajan

  • Yakshagana and Talamaddale

  • Bharatanatyam Vaibhav

  • Gita Rupaka

  • Over two lakh devotees from India and abroad participated, receiving mantras and blessings from the Swamiji.

    During the 10th anniversary celebrations, the Swamiji successfully organised the National Religion Parliament, which drew nationwide attention and remains a memorable milestone for followers of Sri Ram Kshetra Mahasamsthan.
