Udupi, Jun 19: A major disaster was narrowly averted at a petrol pump near Udupi’s city bus stand on Tuesday, June 18, thanks to the swift response of the pump’s vigilant workers. A fire broke out in the generator due to a short circuit, posing a serious threat.
The incident unfolded at a petrol pump situated on the main road of the national highway near Udupi’s bustling city bus stand. It was during this time that flames erupted within the generator. The attentive workers on duty immediately spotted the fire and acted decisively. They promptly moved the generator away from the fuel station to a safer location on the main road and commenced efforts to douse the flames themselves. Simultaneously, they alerted the local fire department.
