The Sri Narayana Guru Yuva Vedike (R), Udupi, successfully presented the devotional Tulu drama Koti Chennayer at Xavier’s Hall, Udyavara, to an enthusiastic audience of over a thousand. The play, directed by Ranga Kesari Ramesh Rai Kukkundoor and brought to life by Kudla’s Prakruthi Kalavidaru troupe, received a resounding response from the audience.

On this occasion, former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake unveiled the conceptual plan for an upcoming Udyanavana (garden) dedicated to spreading the teachings of Brahmashree Narayana Guru. The Vedike has formally sought government land in Kadekar through Sorake’s assistance to bring this vision to life.

In his address, Sorake praised the Vedike for its ongoing commitment to cultural and social service. The event also saw the presence of numerous dignitaries including Udupi District Billava Yuva Vedike president Praveen Poojary, Udupi Urban Development Authority chairman Dinkar Herur, honorary president of the Vedike Sadashiva Amin Kattegudde, former zilla panchayat member Divakar Kundar, and Vedike president Mithun Amin.

Other notable attendees were land tribunal member Royce Fernandes, Girish Kumar Udyavara, Shreyas Kotian, and community leaders like Divakar Bolje, Shabarish Suvarna, and Sachin Salyan.

The evening was a celebration of both culture and community vision, blending traditional storytelling with a forward-looking initiative aimed at preserving the teachings of Sri Narayana Guru.
