Udupi: An accident occurred this afternoon near Kalasanka in Udupi, on the road leading to the Krishna Matha parking area, where an auto-rickshaw lost control and overturned into a ditch, resulting in injuries to four devotees.
The auto-rickshaw was carrying excess six passengers, exceeding its capacity. Four of them suffered minor injuries and have been admitted to a local hospital. All the passengers had come for darshan of Lord Krishna in Udupi. The accident happened while they were returning after the darshan.
The auto-rickshaw driver also sustained serious injuries to his hand in the incident. The front portion of the auto-rickshaw was completely damaged due to the impact of the accident.
Many accidents have been occurring on the road connecting Kalasanka to the Krishna Matha parking area due to the absence of guardrails on the roadside. The public has urged the concerned authorities to take immediate action to address this issue.
