A man in police custody, accused of molesting a woman, died at the Brahmavar police station under mysterious circumstances. The deceased, identified as Biju Mohan (42), a native of Kollam, Kerala, had been arrested following a molestation incident on the night of November 9.
According to the woman’s complaint, Biju Mohan, who had recently moved to Udupi and was employed at the Hangarakatte fish factory, molested a woman residing nearby. After the woman screamed, locals apprehended Biju Mohan and confined him in a house until the police arrived and took him into custody.
While in a police cell at Brahmavar police station, Biju Mohan was found unresponsive in the bathroom around 3:30 am. He was rushed to Brahmavar Primary Health Centre, where he was declared dead. The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
