An ambulance transporting an outpatient from Canara Healthcare in Kumta to a private hospital in Mangaluru overturned on National Highway 66 near Hosapatna Cross in Uttara Kannada’s Honnavar taluk. The incident occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The ambulance was carrying four individuals, including the patient, Kamala Patagar, who had suffered a stroke, and the driver, Somanath Nayak. Both Patagar and Nayak sustained minor injuries in the accident. Fortunately, the other occupants, relatives of Patagar, were not seriously harmed.
Emergency services were quick to respond to the scene, ensuring that the injured received prompt medical attention. Patagar and her relatives were transferred to Mangaluru in a separate ambulance to continue the necessary medical care.
