Vijayapura: Vachanananda Swamiji, president of the Harihara Panchmasali Peeth, has highlighted the intrinsic unity between Hinduism and Lingayatism. At a recent event at Jnana Yogashram, he asserted that all Lingayats are part of the broader Hindu tradition. He noted that various spiritual paths, including Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism, Veerashaiva Lingayatism, and Vaishnavism, contribute to the diverse yet unified spectrum of Hinduism.

Swamiji praised influential figures such as Shankaracharya, Madhavacharya, Ramanujacharya, Guru Nanak, Dnyaneshwar, and Basavanna for their roles in shaping religious philosophies and practices over time. He urged that Basavanna’s teachings should be appreciated beyond sectarian confines and advocated for respect towards those who follow and emulate these revered thinkers.

He also warned against disparaging the practices of one religion while elevating another, promoting instead an understanding of shared values among different faiths. His message, delivered at Jnana Yogashram, was one of interfaith unity and respect.
