Nine Naxalites Arrested In Bijapur District For Alleged Involvement In Ied Blast Fire Rescue Assistant Drone

In a significant development, nine Naxalites, including five suspected of triggering an IED blast targeting a police vehicle, were apprehended from separate locations in Bijapur district of Bastar division. According to an official statement issued by the Bijapur police, five Maoists were captured from Mandem-Kuprel villages in Farsegarh, while four were arrested from the forests of Madded police station.

Details of Arrests: The arrested individuals were allegedly involved in various criminal activities, including murder, planting IEDs to target security forces, hanging banners and posters, road disruptions, and extortion of illegal levies from local contractors.

Incident Disclosure: Following their arrest, the Naxalites confessed to another incident involving the triggering of an IED blast targeting a police vehicle. This incident, which occurred on May 15 in Farsegarh, endangered Inspector Akash Masih and Constable Sanjay, who narrowly escaped harm. The individuals involved in this incident were identified as Guddu Kumma, Budhu Kumma, Suresh Oyam, Vinod Korsa, and Munna Kumma. Despite damaging the vehicle, the Naxalites managed to evade capture. They each carry a reward of Rs 10,000 on their heads and are associated with the frontal wing of the banned outfit.

Significant Arrests: Among the four individuals apprehended from Madded was Lacchu Punem, a member of the Madded area committee, who carried a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh. The arrested individuals were found in possession of explosives, safety fuses, gelatin sticks, and Maoist propaganda material.

The arrests mark a significant blow to Naxalite activities in the region and highlight the ongoing efforts of security forces to maintain law and order.
