An intense firefight erupted today between security forces and Naxal insurgents at the border of Sukma and Bijapur in Chhattisgarh. The ongoing battle involves multiple teams, including the District Reserve Guard (DRG), Special Task Force (STF), and the CRPF’s CoBRA jungle unit.
Meanwhile, in a separate operation in Bijapur, a joint mission by the CRPF and local police led to the discovery and neutralization of two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) planted by Naxals near Murdanda village.
This follows a deadly IED attack on Monday that claimed the lives of eight DRG jawans and one civilian driver. The victims were returning from an operation conducted jointly by police forces from Dantewada, Narayanpur, and Bijapur when the explosion struck.
