Vijayapura (Karnataka), Oct 23 (PTI) — A 21-year-old woman, Nikitha Biradar, tragically died from head injuries after falling off a ranger swing ride at an exhibition ground on Sunday evening. The incident occurred around 7 PM while she was enjoying the event with her mother and friends.
According to police reports, Biradar fell from a significant height when the safety bar of the ride malfunctioned and the safety belt she was wearing tore. She sustained severe head injuries and was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
A senior police official confirmed that a case has been registered against the event manager and the ride operator under section 106 (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate incident.
The community is mourning the loss, highlighting concerns over safety measures at amusement rides in public events.
