Bidar: The police apprehended four young individuals accused of hoisting the Bhagavad Gita flag at the Jama Masjid. The individuals in custody have been identified as Veeresh Shivakumar Surya (20), Kalyani Rajkumar Surya (20), Susheela Shivakumar Biradar (19), and Abhishek Chandrakanth (19).
The incident occurred while these youths, influenced by alcohol, removed the Bhagavad Gita flag from their village’s Hanuman temple and placed it on the Jama Masjid. On the subsequent day, Chandasab Saleem Saab Pathan, a mosque member, reported the incident at the Basavakalyan Rural Police Station, officially documented on the 21st. Following an investigation, all four individuals admitted to their actions, with the intention of causing disruption.
District Superintendent of Police Channabasavanna SL mentioned that a peace gathering convened in the village, and the local residents have pledged their full cooperation in preserving harmony.
