Karwar: Filling the vacancies of Doctors and improving the quality of government hospitals is our priority said Minister for Health and Family Welfare B Sriramulu.
After reviewing the COVID 19 control measures at the Deputy Commissioner's office auditorium, he asserted that he has received many complaints about cleanliness in hospitals, lack of facilities, shortage of Doctors' service, etc, and steps are being taken to address these issues.
"The Uttara Kannada district administration has worked tremendously in containing the COVID 19 and I appreciate and thank the health workers, Anganwadi staff, police department, health department, and all-district officials for their tireless efforts," he added.
"The district has 9 thousand pregnant women and only if they show COVID 19 symptoms during the delivery time, then only the COVID test is to be done. Also do not neglect other diseases since you are engaged in COVID 19 work. Action is being taken to appoint an Obestestrician in Ankola. Safety measures need to be taken in the District to conduct SSLC exams. Students should be provided with a fear-free atmosphere. Also, a decision to start schools should be taken after discussing with the stakeholders and necessary safety measures need to be undertaken", the minister said.
District Commissioner Dr. HarishKuamr K updated the minister about the COVID 19 situation in the district. MLA Roopali Naik, Zilla Panchayath CEO M Roshan, SP Sivaprakash Devaraju, Additional Commissioner Nagaraj Singrer, District Health Officer Dr. Sharad Naik, District Surgeon Shivananda Kudtalkar attended the review meeting.
