Karwar: MP Ananth Kumar Hegde recently pulled up the HESCOM officials for mismatch in the details provided for the Pandit Deen Dayal Gramina Electrification Programme and Soubhagya Programme beneficiaries directed them to submit proper details.
He was charing the district development coordination and incharge committee meeting at the Zilla Panchayat hall. “There is huge mismatch in the details submitted by the officials regarding the beneficiaries of the Pandit Deen Dayal Gramina Electrification Programme and Soubhagya Programme and this shows the irresponsibility of the concerned officials. Furnish the proper details or face action,” he warned.
After reviewing the PMAY project details, he said that the flood victims should be provided with new housing in other ways since there is no provision under this scheme. When he asked the officials about notifying land for the needy, they said that there is no government land available withing the Kumta, Honnavara and Bhatkala city municipality limits and that advertisements are being placed to buy private land. “But the land owners don’t come forward to sell their land at the prices fixed by the government,” they explained.
The health department issues were reviewed and the MP instructed the officials to alert the gram panchayats to take precautions against the recurring Monkey Disease (KFD) in the district.
Meanwhile, the MP also informed that the NAREGA project is yet to be systematically implemented in the district.
“There is enough fund under the programme and we can pay all the people working under this project,” informed ZP CEO M Roshan.
