Kodagu (Suntikoppa): In a tragic incident on Sunday, a 60-year-old man, identified as Ibrahim, suffered severe head injuries after an Innova car rammed into his scooter near the Ayyappa temple on the National Highway in Suntikoppa. The accident occurred when Ibrahim was traveling on his scooter and the car, coming from the opposite direction, collided with him, causing him to fall onto the road.
Bystanders and passersby immediately rushed to his aid and called for medical assistance. Ibrahim was initially given first aid at the nearby Suntikoppa Hospital. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was quickly transported to the Madikeri District Hospital. However, recognizing the need for specialized treatment, doctors there decided to shift him to a hospital in Mangaluru for further medical care.
The accident has raised concerns among local residents about the safety measures on the National Highway, particularly near busy areas like the Ayyappa temple. Many are calling for increased traffic regulations and better enforcement to prevent such incidents in the future.
