Nine lives were tragically lost in a severe road accident involving a bus en route from Bengaluru to Tirupati. The incident occurred near Kolar when the bus collided with a tipper lorry, also leaving over 15 passengers injured, some critically.
The collision took place late Wednesday night at Narsapur, where the speeding tipper lorry crashed into the bus, causing significant damage to its front section. Local authorities promptly responded to the distress call, initiating rescue operations and swiftly transporting the injured to nearby hospitals for urgent medical treatment.
Police officials arrived at the scene without delay, managing to extricate passengers trapped in the bus wreckage. Ambulances rushed the injured to hospitals, where medical teams are currently providing necessary care. The identities of the deceased have not yet been confirmed.
Authorities suspect that excessive speed on the part of the tipper lorry driver was a contributing factor in the collision. The driver reportedly fled the scene after the accident, abandoning the vehicle. Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are working to determine the ownership of the tipper lorry.
Traffic disruptions caused by the accident were resolved through police efforts, restoring normal traffic flow after the vehicles were cleared. A case has been registered, and investigations are ongoing to establish the precise circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
