In a notable development in regional crime investigations, four members of the infamous Cheddi gang have been transported to Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) for questioning. The suspects, who were previously on the run, were apprehended in Mangalore and are now in KGF for further interrogation by local authorities.
The individuals in question—Raju Singhania (24), Mayura Krishna (30), Vicky Pardi (21), and Balisingh (22)—were apprehended near Sakaleshpur by the Mangalore police. Their arrest was a significant operation and was executed with the approval of the Mangalore court. Following their arrest, the suspects were escorted to Robertsonpet police station in KGF by Sub-Inspector Thiagaraj and his team.
The Cheddi gang had recently attempted to break into the residence of Prasanna Reddy in Swarnanagar. Armed with a machine to cut through iron bars, the gang members tried to force their way into the house. Fortunately, the family members were alerted in time and managed to escape the intrusion without harm.
District Superintendent of Police KM Shantaraju has announced that the gang members will be subjected to a three-day interrogation in KGF. This period of questioning is crucial for uncovering further details about their criminal activities and affiliations. It is reported that Balisingh has an existing case registered at Commercial Street Police Station in Bengaluru, while investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of the criminal records of the other gang members.
