Kolar: Under the KGhalli Gram Panchayat, stone breaking is permitted without the use of machinery at the foot of Bhuthamma Hill until further instructions from the government, according to MLA K. Y. Nanjegowda. He made this statement during a meeting with stone masons and taluk officials on Wednesday.

The MLA also indicated that small machinery will be introduced in accordance with government rules and task force guidelines in the near future. Emphasizing priority for locals in block allocation, he mentioned ongoing discussions with department officials to address traditional stone masons’ concerns within legal parameters.

The meeting was attended by several prominent figures, including Senior District Officer of the Mines and Geology Department Rajesh, Tahsildar K. Ramesh, Forest Conservator Dhanalakshmi, and Circle Inspector Vasanth Kumar, among others.
