In a significant development, the Lokayukta police have apprehended two officials from the Revenue and Survey Departments in Malur for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹20,000. RI Manjunath from the Revenue Department and ADLR Ashwini from the Survey Department were caught red-handed at the taluk office on Saturday.

The duo is accused of demanding a bribe of ₹30,000 from Kamanna of Dodda Kattur village for mapping and land conversion purposes. On Saturday morning, Manjunath received ₹10,000 and instructed the attendant to provide the remaining amount. However, during this transaction, Lokayukta S.P. Umesh-led officers conducted a raid and successfully arrested Manjunath.

This arrest sends a strong message against corruption in public offices as authorities continue their efforts to promote transparency and integrity within government departments. The accused individuals will face legal consequences for their actions as per applicable laws.
