In the wake of a fatal accident during an educational outing, six staff members, including the acting principal of the Government Higher Primary School in Ganadal village, Yalaburga taluk, have been relieved of their duties. The unfortunate incident involved a Class 8 pupil, identified as Nirupadi, who reportedly lost his life after falling into a well during the school excursion
Shrishaila Biradar, the Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI), issued the suspension notice to the acting principal, Hanumesh Bellad, alongside assistant educators Shivakumar Avasangarad, Nagaraj Shettar, Amaresh Ballari, Eeramma Badiger, and Padmavathi Pawar. The DDPI stated that the tragic event occurred due to the apparent carelessness of the teachers involved.
According to the official order, the educators were deemed negligent in their responsibility to ensure the safety of students during the excursion. This lack of vigilance has been directly linked to the unfortunate loss of a young life.
The suspension order comes amidst growing scrutiny over the protocols followed during school trips and has raised concerns about safety measures in educational institutions.
