Yenepoya University’s Incubator Centre inaugurated

Mangaluru: Minister of Higher Education Dr. C. N. Ashwath Narayan inaugurated new incubator established at Yenepoya Deemed University on Thursday March 3.

Speaking at the programme, he said, “With the goal of researching and developing healthcare and medical infrastructure, due to setting up of this centre for nurturing, the local people can get healthcare facilities at an affordable prices. It is also a step towards the creation of self-sufficient India (Atmanirbhar Bharat).

The centre has been recognised by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, and is one of the country’s leading centres for research. It will continue its work under the National Biopharmaceutical Mission, he said.

The incubator centre is also recognised under the Central Government’s `Sparsh ‘, he said and added that this would enable access to affirdable medical equipment for public, especially for mothers, children, elders and general people, he added.

The centre has state-of-the-art facilities for manufacturing medical devices including vaccines and medicines. These include 3D printer-like advantages for use in metals, thermoplastics, polymers and biomaterials. This will be a huge benefit for local researchers and innovators, ”said
Ashwath Narayan.

Yenepoya University Vice Chancellor Yenepoya Abdullah Kunhi, Mohammed Farhad Yenepoya, Mohideen Khurshid, Dr. Vijayakumar and Aseem Syed Siraj were present.
