Puttur: Leader must be selected on the basis of quality. Those who took over the leadership of the organisation, the purpose should be contributing their might. Thereby aiding the achievement of the goal due to which student union can have a meaning, said Ambika Group of Institutions Governing Body Member Satyaprasad Kote.

He was speaking at the Nattoja Foundation Trust’s Ambika PU College in Bappaligege here after inauguration of Students’ Union for the year 2022-23. He attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest.

“In many institutions we see the person who wins student union elections celebrates as if he is the MLA. We have to think whether this kind of glorification is needed. The one who becomes a leader must inculcate leadership qualities in others as well. Only then will the leadership be elevated. The system is smooth when one who leads is the real leader,” he asserted.

The event was presided over by Ambika Group Secretary Subramanya Nattoja. He said that students should not be a leader on the basis of assurances but should become on the basis of worthiness. When this kind of electoral process takes place in educational institution only then will it be an ideal system. Simplicity and hard work adds to the personality, he noted.

Popular Sweets Owner Narasimha Kamath, inaugurated the students’ union by lighting the lamp.
Ambika Group of Institutions Administration Board Member Suresh Shetty extended good wishes to the students.

On the occasion, Narasimha Kamath was felicitated by the Ambika Group. Along with this newly appointed Principal of the college Suchitra Prabhu was feted.
