Mandya Gears Up for II PU Exams with Tight Security
Mandya: The II PU examinations in Mandya district will be held under strict CCTV surveillance from March 1 to 20, Deputy Commissioner Kumara announced.
A total of 14,617 students will appear for the exams across 26 centres, with Mandya having the highest number of candidates (5,073). Other centres include Maddur (2,137), Malavalli (1,063), KR Pet (1,720), Nagamangala (1,720), Srirangapatna (1,108), and Pandavapura (1,717).
To prevent malpractice, all centres will have CCTV webcasting, monitored by the DC office. A dedicated team of principals has been formed to oversee this initiative. Additionally, five mobile squads and a sitting squad will be deployed.
A three-member committee—comprising the tahsildar, block education officer, and a principal—will ensure safe transportation of question papers. Armed police personnel will escort the vehicles, equipped with GPS trackers.
On exam days, a 200-metre no-entry zone will be enforced around centres, and photocopy shops will remain closed. KSRTC buses will be arranged for students in rural areas.
Superintendent Mallikarjuna Baladandi confirmed that health personnel will be stationed at centres. Staff must wear ID badges, and mobile phones, smartwatches, or electronic devices are strictly prohibited.
