Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation Limited (CESC) inaugurated a new branch office in Mahadevpura under the Srirangapatna sub-division on Monday. The opening was led by CESC Chairman and Srirangapatna MLA Ramesh Bandisiddegowda, who highlighted the significance of the new facility in addressing the region’s long-standing demand for improved access to electricity services.

“This branch will bring essential power-related services closer to Mahadevpura residents, ensuring quicker and more efficient support,” Bandisiddegowda said.

He appealed to farmers to regularise unauthorised irrigation pump (IP) sets by paying the necessary deposit and fulfilling formalities. Encouraging better field-level coordination, he urged linemen to actively engage with farmers, raise awareness about legal compliance, and assist them in resolving electricity-related concerns. He also emphasized the importance of respectful communication with the farming community.

Addressing workplace safety, the chairman instructed linemen to strictly use protective gear while on duty to prevent electrical accidents. He stressed that safety should remain a top priority during daily operations.

KM Munigopal Raju, another official present at the inauguration, echoed the chairman’s sentiments. He stated that the Mahadevpura branch was launched in direct response to continuous public requests for better infrastructure and accessibility.

The new office is expected to streamline services for residents, improve grievance redressal, and promote safe and efficient electricity usage in the region.
