Following the high number of failures in the recently concluded SSLC examination, particularly in Kannada language, the Mandya district administration has issued instructions to address the issue promptly. District Collector Dr. Kumar presided over a meeting to analyze the examination results and plan for the upcoming SSLC-2 examination scheduled for June 2024.

Key Instructions from the District Collector Include:

  1. Remedial Teaching Sessions: Remedial teaching will be conducted from May 17 to June 5 for students who failed the SSLC examination. This initiative aims to provide additional support and guidance to help students pass the upcoming examination.
  2. Ensure Registration for Exam-2: Efforts should be made to ensure that all 5154 failed students register to write the SSLC-2 examination. This includes persuading students and parents to attend the remedial classes compulsorily.
  3. Preparation by School Teachers: School teachers are instructed to prepare a timetable for remedial teaching, focusing on increasing students’ confidence, eliminating negative attitudes, and fostering a positive learning environment.
  4. Workshop for Teachers: A workshop will be organized for teachers on effective teaching strategies and methods to prepare students who failed the SSLC examination. This aims to equip teachers with the necessary skills to support struggling students effectively.
  5. Appointment of Nodal Officer: A nodal officer has been appointed for 6 to 7 low-performing schools. These officials will conduct mandatory visits to schools, distribute sample question papers, and provide guidance to students preparing for the examination.
  6. Formation of Analytical Committee: A committee will be formed to analyze and report on the reasons for poor performance in SSLC examinations over the past 5-6 years. This initiative aims to identify underlying issues and implement appropriate remedial measures in schools with low performance.

These instructions highlight the district administration’s commitment to addressing SSLC exam failures and ensuring the academic advancement of students in Mandya district.
