In a disturbing incident from G Bommanahalli village in Nagamangala taluk, a man was restrained and physically assaulted by a group of locals after he allegedly pulled a knife on another villager during a monetary dispute.

The event unfolded on Wednesday and came to public attention after a graphic video began circulating widely on social media. The footage shows 34-year-old Nagesh tied by both his hands and legs to a wooden pole, as a group of individuals take turns hitting him.

Preliminary investigation by the police suggests that Nagesh had reportedly brandished a knife at a man named Chaluvesh, following an argument over a financial matter. This altercation appears to have escalated, with Chaluvesh and some of his companions allegedly capturing Nagesh and subjecting him to mob-style punishment.

Authorities confirmed that Nagesh’s wife later approached the Nagamangala Rural Police Station and filed an official complaint regarding the assault. Acting on this, the police have registered a case and launched an inquiry into the matter.

A senior officer stated that the incident is under active examination and that further action will follow based on evidence collected, including the viral video clip.

The episode has sparked concerns about vigilante justice and the rise of public retaliation over personal disputes, particularly when captured and shared online.
