Mandya district is set to see significant infrastructure improvements, with the introduction of an automated testing station, vehicle fitness center, and seizure yard in Nagamangala taluk. On Monday, district minister N Cheluvarayaswamy officially handed over a 9.5-acre plot of land to the transport department for the establishment of these essential facilities. The initiative is also designed to provide skill development opportunities for unemployed youth, offering training in various sectors.
The first of these facilities, the Automated Testing Station, will be constructed soon, with the other two to follow in phases. The foundation for the testing station is expected to be laid within the next month.
In addition to these developments, the minister inaugurated a public meeting in Bellur, where he launched the Land Security Scheme. This new initiative aims to digitize and preserve old property records in the Nagamangala taluk office, safeguarding them from tampering or loss.
Cheluvarayaswamy also laid the foundation for a ₹31 crore project to improve Bellur’s drinking water supply and distribution network. This will include a new water tank and pipeline connections to every household. Other significant developments include a ₹1 crore government pre-university college building, a ₹55 lakh primary school building, and a ₹5 crore social welfare hostel.
