Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada district administration has decided to take stringent measures to reduce the Covid positive rate by imposing lockdown in 40 villages and places where the number of infected people is high, as well as sealing infected people's homes.
In this regard, a meeting was conducted in the DC office's auditorium. District in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary presided over the meeting.
“The infection rate in the district has not decreased as expected. To reduce the rate of infection, all necessary precautions should be taken. The number of Covid tests should be increased," Poojary remarked, giving directions to the authorities.
“If any of the current restrictions are eased, it will be impossible to bring the infection rate under control. Action is being taken to provide primary health care facilities with the required equipment, lab technicians, and vehicles," stated Deputy Commissioner Dr Rajendra K.V.
