Bantwal: Dakshina Kannada district police have made elaborate security arrangements ahead of the protest scheduled to be held near B C Road under the Bantwal Town police station limits on September 28.

As part of the preparations to maintain law and order, police conducted a flag march in the B C Road area on September 27.

The march was carried out to familiarise the deployed personnel with the area and reinforce security arrangements ahead of the protest.

256 personnel deployed

A total of 256 police personnel have been deployed for bandobast duty in connection with the protest.

The deployment includes:

  • One Additional Superintendent of Police
  • One Assistant Superintendent of Police
  • Eight police inspectors
  • 23 police sub-inspectors
  • 34 assistant sub-inspectors
  • 184 police personnel
  • Five home guards

The deployment has been planned to ensure adequate police presence in and around the protest location and to respond to any law-and-order requirements.

Additional armed forces deployed

In addition to the district police personnel, additional armed forces have also been deployed as part of the security arrangements.

The deployment includes two platoons of the State Armed Police (SAF), three platoons of the District Armed Reserve (DAR) and four platoons of the Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP).

The additional forces will supplement the district police during the protest and assist with crowd management and maintenance of public order.

Flag march held at B C Road

The police flag march was conducted in the B C Road area on Saturday, a day ahead of the scheduled protest.

The exercise formed part of the preventive security measures taken by the district police.

With a substantial police deployment in place, authorities are preparing to manage the movement of protesters and traffic while ensuring that normal public activity in the area is not unnecessarily disrupted.
