Mangaluru: A tragic incident unfolded in Bejai on Wednesday as a 91-year-old man, John Lawrence Saldanha, was found dead after reportedly falling from the sixth floor of his apartment. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Mangaluru East police station.
According to preliminary police investigations, Saldanha, who lived with his wife, had a medical history of diabetes and frequent dizziness. Authorities suspect that he may have accidentally lost his balance and fallen during the night.
The fall was discovered on Wednesday morning. Police have registered a case and are continuing with their investigation to confirm the circumstances surrounding the death.
