Accident Near Katapady Junction Injures Policeman and Four Passengers

A traffic accident near Katapady Junction on the Mangaluru-Udupi NH 66 resulted in injuries to a policeman and four passengers on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred when the police stopped a car driven by Harish Narayan Poojary, who was heading towards Padubidri from Udyavar.

At the same time, a Swift car behind Harish’s vehicle collided with it, causing Harish’s car to hit police officer Rama. Officer Rama sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to the hospital for urgent medical attention.

The driver of the Swift car, Sushanth, is alleged to have been driving negligently, leading to the accident. Sushanth, along with passengers Vishnu, Ashika, and Harshi, sustained minor injuries in the mishap.

Authorities are investigating the incident, which underscores the critical importance of attentive and cautious driving to prevent such accidents.
