Mangaluru: Advaith Kia at Kodikal Cross, Kottara Chowki, Mangaluru, unveiled the all-new Kia Sorento, a premium three-row SUV reimagined for the Indian market, at an exclusive event on September 12.
Daijiworld Media founder Walter Nandalike, who was the chief guest, inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp. He later joined the Advaith Kia team, customers and other guests for a cake-cutting ceremony and the unveiling of the Sorento.

Speaking at the event, Walter Nandalike congratulated the Advaith Kia team and appreciated its energy and customer-friendly approach. Describing the Sorento as a complete family car, he said that when a vehicle offers such comfort and facilities, the journey itself becomes as enjoyable as the destination.
The unveiling brought together Kia customers, automobile enthusiasts, members of the Advaith Kia team and other guests. The event provided customers with an opportunity to get a closer look at Kia’s latest premium SUV and its combination of design, technology, comfort and safety features.
The Kia Sorento has been positioned as a premium family SUV, with three-row seating aimed at customers looking for additional space and comfort for everyday use as well as long-distance travel.
Premium exterior design
The Sorento features Kia’s signature Digital Tiger Face, complemented by Crystal Cube LED Projection Headlamps and Star Map LED lighting. The SUV also gets a panoramic sunroof and premium crystal-cut alloy wheels, adding to its distinctive and sophisticated road presence.
The exterior design combines a bold SUV stance with contemporary styling, while the three-row configuration gives the vehicle a practical orientation for larger families and group travel.
The combination of exterior styling and premium features is intended to give the Sorento a strong presence on both city roads and highways.
Technology-focused premium cabin
Inside, the Sorento offers a premium cabin equipped with a range of comfort and convenience features. Depending on the variant, the SUV comes with 12.3-inch HD displays, ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control, 64-colour ambient lighting and a Bose 12-speaker premium sound system.
The SUV is also equipped with Kia Connect 2.0, which provides more than 85 connected features. The Kia AI Assistant further adds to the connected and technology-oriented driving experience.
The cabin has been designed to cater to both driver and passenger comfort, particularly during longer journeys. The availability of features such as ventilated seats, premium audio and multi-zone climate control enhances the overall touring experience.
Diesel and hybrid powertrain options
The Kia Sorento is offered with two powertrain options. The diesel variant is powered by a 2.2-litre engine paired with an 8-speed DCT transmission.
The SUV is also available with a 1.6-litre Turbo GDI Hybrid powertrain paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The availability of both diesel and hybrid options gives customers a choice based on their performance and driving requirements.
Higher variants of the Sorento also come with All-Wheel Drive. These versions feature Snow, Mud and Sand terrain modes, providing additional capability across different driving conditions.
The combination of multiple powertrain choices, automatic transmissions and available all-wheel-drive capability makes the Sorento suitable for both urban driving and longer road journeys.
Advanced safety features
Safety is another major focus of the new Kia Sorento. The SUV comes with up to 10 airbags, depending on the variant, along with a 360-degree camera and 12 parking sensors.
Higher variants are equipped with advanced driver assistance technology featuring ADAS Level 2+ and 29 autonomous features. These technologies are designed to provide additional assistance to the driver in various driving situations.
The combination of airbags, camera-based assistance, parking sensors and advanced driver-assistance systems adds to the SUV’s safety package, particularly for families travelling together.
Six- and seven-seater configurations
The Kia Sorento is available in both six- and seven-seater configurations, giving buyers the flexibility to select a layout according to their requirements.
