Mangaluru: The Konkani film My Dear Father continues to capture hearts across the coastal region as its premiere shows draw packed audiences and critical acclaim. Following its special screening for priests and religious leaders, which received an overwhelming response, the film’s first premiere in Puttur was met with similar appreciation. The momentum continued at the second premiere held at Deralakatte, organised separately by the Manoranjan Mangalore Team and Sangodi Permannur, both attracting enthusiastic crowds.

Songs launched with cultural performances

Ahead of the screening, the film’s songs were officially released by Sabitha Monis. To add to the celebrations, the Urban Groove team, led by Avil Dcruz, delivered a lively dance performance to the title track of the movie. The soundtrack of My Dear Father is now available across major music platforms.

Guests and felicitations

The event was graced by several prominent personalities, including Vijay Veigas Permannur, Diel Jeremy Monteiro, Jean Monteiro Manjeshwar, Rudy Dsouza Permannur, and Rudolph Antony Dsouza of Sangodi Permannur. Singer Robin Sequeira and the film’s cinematographer Danel Jason, representing Comedy Company, were also present.

As part of the ceremony, the director of the film, Nellu Permannur, was felicitated in recognition of his contribution to Konkani cinema.

Scholarships distributed from premiere proceeds

In a unique gesture, proceeds from the Sangodi Permannur screening, held in association with Comedy Company, were directed towards educational scholarships for four deserving students. The scholarship distribution was attended by Lucas Dsouza, Alfred Dsouza, Demetrius Dsouza, Godfrey Dsouza, and Arun Dsouza, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council, Permannur.

Star-studded presence and audience response

Several artistes and crew members of the film were in attendance, including Prakash K., Rajesh Miyapadavu, Jasmine Dsouza, Venessa Moras, Sushanth Dsouza, Deril Permannur, Art Director Joseph Monteiro, Drone Expert Amar Veigas, Production Manager Maria Joyce, Editor Raveen Martis, and veteran actress Celestine Monteiro, aged 85.

The event was compered by Alwyn Danthi, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Alwyn C. Veigas. The audience, after viewing the film, praised its emotional depth and storytelling, heightening anticipation for its theatrical release.

Upcoming release across Bharath Cinemas

The organisers announced that My Dear Father will hit theatres across Bharath Cinemas multiplexes on September 24, promising to reach a wider audience.
