Bantwal: In an inspiring act of honesty, an auto-rickshaw driver returned a lost purse containing cash and important documents to its rightful owner after finding it on the Kalladka service road on Friday, July 3. The gesture has earned widespread appreciation from local residents.
Purse found on service road
The auto-rickshaw driver has been identified as Rudresh Perne, who is also the brother of the owners of Sathyashree Catering and Mathrushree Catering in Perne near Uppinangady.
According to available information, Rudresh had visited Kalladka for some personal work when he noticed a purse lying on the service road. Instead of ignoring it, he picked it up and checked its contents to identify the owner.
The purse contained cash along with important personal documents.
Owner contacted through documents
Using the details available inside the purse, Rudresh contacted the owner over the phone and informed him that the lost belongings had been found.
The owner was identified as Hafeez, a native of Bengaluru who works as a welder at Bhagavathi Steels in Panemangalore-Melkar.
Rudresh requested Hafeez to come near the Kalladka mosque, where he personally handed over the purse along with all its contents.
The owner received the purse safely and expressed gratitude for the driver’s honesty and prompt action.
Honest gesture wins public appreciation
Rudresh Perne’s act of integrity has been widely appreciated by members of the public, who praised his decision to ensure the purse was returned to its rightful owner without delay.
Residents said such acts of honesty help strengthen trust within society and serve as an example of responsible citizenship.
Locals also recalled that Kalladka had recently witnessed another similar act of humanity, making Rudresh’s gesture yet another reminder that honesty and compassion continue to thrive in the community.
