Mangaluru: In India’s traditional systems of medicine, special priority has long been accorded to the health and well-being of women and children. Emphasising this core philosophy, Ayush Utsav 2026 aims to showcase the convergence of classical knowledge and scientific approaches within the AYUSH systems. The two-day festival is expected to create awareness about lifestyle-related diseases, provide guidance on their prevention and management, and promote holistic health practices rooted in India’s traditional medical heritage.
The organisers stated that the event will help identify key factors in modern lifestyles that contribute to various diseases and offer suitable guidance on controlling and preventing them. It will also provide comprehensive information on different AYUSH treatment methods and inform the public about where such treatments are available. Several therapeutic initiatives will be made accessible to visitors, with the overarching objective of promoting public health and overall well-being.
Platform to integrate classical wisdom and modern science
Ayush Utsav 2026 is being organised with the intention of bridging classical AYUSH knowledge systems with contemporary scientific understanding. The organisers believe that this integration is essential in addressing present-day health challenges, particularly those arising from sedentary lifestyles, stress, unhealthy dietary habits and environmental factors.
Through interactive sessions, exhibitions and consultations, the festival will highlight how Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani and Homeopathy can complement modern healthcare practices. The focus will be on preventive healthcare, early diagnosis and natural methods of healing that aim to restore balance in the body and mind.
Two-day festival with wide participation
Ayush Utsav 2026, organised by the Ayush Utsav Committee 2026 in collaboration with various AYUSH colleges, organisations and practising doctors, will be held over two days on January 31 and February 1 at the Dr TMA Pai International Convention Centre.
The organisers estimate that around 5,000 doctors, nearly 10,000 AYUSH medical students including postgraduate students and research scholars, and over 20,000 members of the general public are expected to attend the festival. The large-scale participation reflects the growing interest in alternative and traditional systems of medicine across different sections of society.
Special services and therapeutic initiatives
The festival will feature a wide range of special services related to Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani and Homeopathy medical systems. Visitors will have the opportunity to interact directly with experienced practitioners and gain insights into various treatment modalities.
Free or subsidised consultations, lifestyle counselling sessions, yoga demonstrations and information kiosks are expected to be among the key attractions. The organisers said these initiatives are aimed at encouraging people to adopt healthier lifestyles and explore preventive healthcare options rather than relying solely on curative treatments.
Focus on women and child health
One of the central themes of Ayush Utsav 2026 is the emphasis on women’s and children’s health, which has traditionally been a cornerstone of Indian systems of medicine. Sessions and awareness programmes will focus on maternal health, nutrition, hormonal balance, mental well-being, paediatric care and immunity-building practices.
Experts will also address common health concerns faced by women and children in the modern era and explain how AYUSH therapies can play a supportive role in managing these issues safely and effectively.
Knowledge-sharing and public awareness
In addition to therapeutic services, the festival will serve as a knowledge-sharing platform for students, researchers and practitioners of AYUSH systems. Academic discussions, experience-sharing sessions and interactions between senior doctors and young professionals are expected to enrich the learning experience.
For the general public, the event will act as an educational forum, helping demystify traditional medicine and present it in a scientific and accessible manner. Information on accredited institutions, authorised practitioners and recognised treatment centres will also be provided.
Organisers’ perspective
The details of the festival were shared by organiser Asha Jyothi Rai during a press conference. She said Ayush Utsav 2026 is being organised with the larger goal of strengthening public trust in AYUSH systems and making holistic healthcare more accessible.
According to the organisers, the event also seeks to encourage collaboration among institutions, practitioners and policymakers to further strengthen the AYUSH ecosystem in the country.
Conclusion
Ayush Utsav 2026 is expected to emerge as a significant public health initiative that brings together traditional wisdom, scientific understanding and community participation. By focusing on preventive care, lifestyle modification and holistic healing, the festival aims to inspire individuals to take greater responsibility for their health while reinforcing the relevance of India’s traditional medical systems in contemporary life.
