The woman, identified as Ponnamma, a resident of Savanoor in Mysuru, was travelling on the Mangaluru–Bengaluru train when she went into labour shortly after the train departed from Mangaluru. Noticing her distress, a group of Muslim women travelling on the same train quickly came to her aid.
