Mangaluru: The two-day regional coordinators’ conference of Bajrang Dal, the youth wing of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), commenced at Sanghaniketan in the city on Saturday, with leaders emphasising unity, cultural preservation and social responsibility.
Addressing the gathering, Bajrang Dal national coordinator Kishan Prajapat said the organisation has played a key role in campaigns aimed at protecting Sanatan Hindu Dharma across the country. He noted that the group had been actively involved in movements linked to the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
“With the construction of the Ram Temple, one phase of our objective is achieved. The broader aim is to establish the ideals of Ram Rajya,” he said.
Focus on service, security and culture
Prajapat highlighted that the organisation’s guiding principles are centred on service, security and cultural preservation. He added that Bajrang Dal continues to work on issues such as cow protection, social awareness and efforts aimed at addressing drug abuse.
He also stressed that being part of the organisation carries responsibility. “It is not just a label. Society has expectations from Bajrang Dal activists, and the organisation works continuously to meet those expectations,” he said.
Call for unity within society
VHP honorary adviser M B Puranik said the parent organisation was founded with the aim of uniting Hindus globally and addressing community concerns.
He pointed out that lack of unity remains a significant challenge. “Disunity is often exploited to create divisions. Strengthening unity is essential to overcome such challenges,” he said.
Puranik added that the youth wing plays a role in promoting cultural awareness and engaging young people in social initiatives.
Conference inauguration and participation
The conference began with a flag-hoisting ceremony led by K Sthanumalayan. Several regional leaders and office-bearers attended the event, including VHP Mangaluru district president H K Purushottam and joint secretary Sharan Pumpwell.
The two-day event is expected to include discussions on organisational strategies, outreach activities and coordination among southern states.
Conclusion
The conference in Mangaluru reflects Bajrang Dal’s continued focus on expanding its organisational network and engaging youth in cultural and social initiatives. Leaders emphasised unity and responsibility as key elements for achieving long-term goals, while outlining ongoing and future areas of work.
