Mangaluru: The 117th Foundation Day celebrations of Bank of Baroda were commemorated with a variety of activities, including a blood donation camp in association with the Indian Red Cross. A walkathon was conducted from Bank of Baroda’s Zonal Office at Dr. Ambedkar Circle, Mangaluru, to Bunt’s Hostel, Hampanakatta, and back to the office. The event was flagged off by Shri Virendra Mohan Joshi, Senior Commandant of CISF at Mangaluru International Airport, and Shri Rajesh Khanna, General Manager & Zonal Head.

Participants in the walkathon included Shri Ramesh Kanade, Deputy General Manager; Shri Ashwini Kumar, Deputy General Manager; Shri Rajashekar, Deputy General Manager; Shri Sanil Kumar, Regional Manager of Mangaluru City; other officials, and over 300 staff members from Mangaluru.

A cultural program featuring Yakshagana, classical dances, and the Tiger Dance was organized at St. Sebastian’s Centenary Hall in Bendur, Mangaluru. The event saw attendance from retired staff members, employees, customers, and approximately 800 people. Prof. P.L. Dharma, Vice Chancellor of Mangalore University, was the chief guest of the program. He emphasized the services provided by bankers to society and praised the initiatives of the Bank of Baroda. Shri Rajesh Khanna, General Manager & Zonal Head, spoke about the legacy, journey, and strengths of the bank and expressed gratitude for the patronage it has received. Shri K.R. Shenoy, Retired Executive Director of the Bank, also addressed the gathering.

In line with its CSR initiatives, the bank extended its efforts to old age homes and other locations, such as the Sanidhya School for Special Children in Mangaluru, Olavanahalli Home for the Needy, Neglected, and Marginalized, Abhaya Ashram at Assaigoli, and many others across Mangaluru.

The Bank of Baroda also undertook environment-friendly initiatives, such as the distribution and planting of saplings under the Green Earth initiative, along with other green initiatives being planned and executed. Additionally, the bank distributed umbrellas to traffic police, security personnel, and others as part of its community support efforts.
