Mangaluru: Bharat Beedi Works Private Limited, one of India’s well-known beedi manufacturers with a portfolio of 30 popular brands, celebrated its 96th foundation day at the company’s head office on Kadri Road in Mangaluru on Friday. The event brought together the company’s directors, officials from various banks, business associates and agents from different states to commemorate nearly a century of the organisation’s journey in the tobacco manufacturing industry.
Nearly a century of growth
The foundation day celebration highlighted the company’s long-standing presence in the beedi manufacturing sector and its contribution to employment and business over the past 96 years. The programme began with an address by the company’s Executive Director Subraya M Pai, who reflected on the organisation’s journey since its inception.
Speaking on the occasion, Subraya M Pai outlined the milestones achieved by Bharat Beedi Works over the decades and explained the path the company has taken to establish itself as a recognised name in the beedi industry. He expressed gratitude to employees, business partners, distributors, agents, customers and well-wishers who have supported the company throughout its long journey.
He noted that the company’s continued growth had been possible because of the trust reposed in it by stakeholders and the dedication shown by successive generations of employees and associates.
Focus on social responsibility
Executive Director Anand G Pai spoke about the company’s commitment to social responsibility alongside its business activities. He highlighted the various social service initiatives undertaken by Bharat Beedi Works and its contributions towards society over the years.
He said the organisation has consistently believed in giving back to society and has supported several initiatives as part of its corporate values. The address reflected the company’s emphasis on balancing commercial success with community welfare.
The gathering also heard about the company’s continued efforts to strengthen its relationships with stakeholders while maintaining its legacy in the industry.

The function was attended by several members of the company’s leadership team. Executive Directors Nagendra D Pai, Venkatesh M Pai and the company’s International Business Relations Officer Abhishek N Pai were present on the dais during the programme.

The formal proceedings concluded with Executive Director Sudhir M Pai delivering the vote of thanks. He acknowledged everyone who had contributed to the successful organisation of the event and thanked the guests for their participation.
