Mangaluru: The Catholic Women’s Association of St Sebastian Church, Permannur, celebrated its Silver Jubilee with great fervour and gratitude on Sunday, April 20, at 6:00 pm on the church grounds. The event reflected 25 years of faith, service, and empowerment.

The evening opened with a prayer hymn, setting a reverent tone, followed by a vibrant welcome dance performed by children. Guests were warmly welcomed onto the stage, which was presided over by parish vicar and director Fr Cyprian Pinto.

The occasion witnessed the presence of spiritual director Fr Joseph Mascarenhas, Women’s Association varado president Lynette Castelino, advisor Sr Joseph Mary (Bethel Convent), PPC vice president Arun D’Souza, secretary Jyothi D’Souza, Ayog coordinator Dolphy D’Souza, Sr Alphonsa (Nirmala Convent), and others.

Association president Pramila D’Souza welcomed the gathering. A symbolic sapling watering ceremony by Fr Pinto marked the formal inauguration. Secretary Jyothi D’Souza presented a touching report of the association’s 25-year journey, highlighting achievements and milestones.

The event featured felicitations for four outstanding members, unveiling of the association’s official logo, and honouring of past presidents. Spiritual messages by Sr Joseph Mary and Lynette Castelino encouraged continued dedication.

A donation of ₹50,000 was presented by the association to the parish priest for Holy Angels School. Mementos were distributed to all dignitaries and guests.

With around 800 attendees, the jubilee celebration concluded with a vote of thanks by Savita D’Souza. The event was compered by Jacinta Veigas and Leena D’Souza.
