Mangaluru: Members of the Christian community, led by the Nationalist Christian Forum, visited Sanghaniketan in Mangaluru on Wednesday to extend greetings and participate in the 79th annual public Ganeshotsav organised under the aegis of Keshav Smriti Samvardhan Trust (R).
The delegation interacted with senior RSS functionaries at the organisation’s office and discussed national issues and social concerns before joining the Ganeshotsav programme at the auditorium.

The delegation arrived at Sanghaniketan and held an interaction with senior functionaries at the organisation’s office.
The discussions covered various national issues and social concerns. Following the interaction, the delegation proceeded to the auditorium, where members of the Christian community and representatives of the organisation exchanged bouquets at the main entrance.
The visit formed part of the delegation’s participation in the annual public Ganeshotsav and was marked by greetings and interaction among members of the communities.
The delegation later offered flowers and fruits at the shrine of Lord Ganesha.
Community members join Ganeshotsav programme
Following the floral offering, the visiting delegation participated in breakfast along with senior members of the organisation and media representatives.
The programme brought together members of the Christian community and organisers of the annual Ganeshotsav for an interaction at Sanghaniketan.
The 79th annual public Ganeshotsav is being organised under the aegis of Keshav Smriti Samvardhan Trust (R), with the programme bringing together community members and guests during the festival celebrations.
The delegation was led by CA Daniel Marsh Pereira, president of the CA Association, Mangaluru.

The delegation included Dr Alwyn D’Sa, Maxim Crasta, Notary Lany Pinto, advocate Zeeta Moras, Reshma D’Souza, Naveen Fernandes, Arun D’Souza of Kulshekar, Cynthia Moras, Romeo Fernandes, Naveen D’Almeida, Evert D’Souza, Pravin Coutinho, Sandeep D’Souza, Vinod Pinto, Juliana Moras, Praveen Tauro and Urban D’Souza Kadekar.
The members participated in the programme and joined the interaction with senior members of the organisation and media representatives.
The visit also included a felicitation programme recognising individuals and families connected with the armed forces and education.
Army and Navy families felicitated
As part of the programme, the parents of Major Pearl Fiona Fernandes, who is serving in the Indian Army, were felicitated.
The parents of Sub-Lieutenant Nishel D’Almeida, who has been appointed to the Indian Navy, were also honoured during the programme.
The felicitations recognised the families of those serving in the country’s armed forces and highlighted their contribution and support.
Best Teacher Award recipient honoured
Praveen Coutinho of St Aloysius High School, who received the District-level Best Teacher Award, was also honoured during the programme.
His recognition formed another part of the felicitation ceremony held during the delegation’s visit.
The programme therefore combined the Ganeshotsav visit with recognition of individuals and families associated with the armed forces and education.
The gathering concluded with continued interaction among the visiting delegation, senior members of the organisation and media representatives.
