Coastal Friends Mangalore (CFM), a charitable forum dedicated to supporting the community, will host ‘A Day With Orphans on December 14 as part of their ‘Santhvanaa Sanchara 2.0’ initiative. The event will bring joy to 85 orphans, aged 8 to 14, by taking them on an exciting outing to Pilikula Nisargadhama, a biological park, science centre, and planetarium.

Sharif Abbas Valalu, president of CFM, explained that the children will also participate in entertainment programs and competitions at a resort, with each child receiving a kit worth Rs 10,000, containing a dress, shoes, belt, wristwatch, and study materials. The goal is to provide a day of happiness and fun for children who have lost their parents.

This initiative follows the success of Santhwanna Sanchara 1.0, where the group organized ‘A Day With Bedridden’ for six bedridden individuals and their families, taking them to Pilikula Nisargadhama, Tannirbavi Beach, and a shopping mall. For this year’s event, CFM has selected 50 boys and 35 girls who have lost their parents.

The event is being held with the permission of the children’s relatives and the orphanages. Transportation, women volunteers for the girls, and a medical team with an ambulance will be provided to ensure the children’s safety. After a day filled with fun, the children will be returned to their orphanages.

Since 2017, CFM has been involved in various social welfare activities, including blood donation drives, medical bed and wheelchair distributions, and more, with a focus on education and health.
