Mangaluru – Intermittent showers continued across Karnataka’s coastal belt on Wednesday, with several parts of Dakshina Kannada witnessing a temporary lull in rainfall. In Mangaluru, the day began with partly sunny skies and intermittent cloud cover, followed by moderate rainfall later in the afternoon.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for coastal areas from July 10 to 15, predicting spells of moderate to heavy rain during this period. Residents are advised to stay updated with weather alerts and exercise caution.

In the Udupi district, weather conditions remained mostly cloudy through the morning and early afternoon, punctuated by brief moments of sunshine. However, as the day progressed, rainfall activity intensified across multiple locations.

Areas such as Udupi, Manipal, Byndoor, Kundapur, Kota, Brahmavar, Malpe, Karkala, Hebri, Shirva, Padubidri, Kaup, and Uchila experienced moderate showers post-noon.

As per the IMD’s latest update, the region is expected to receive consistent rainfall over the coming days, maintaining a wet and humid monsoon atmosphere.

Authorities have urged the public to remain alert, especially in low-lying regions and areas prone to waterlogging.
