Beltangady: A 19-year-old first-year student of the Government First Grade College, Beltangady, was found dead at her residence in Kadirudyavara village on Wednesday. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Student found hanging at residence
The deceased has been identified as Nikhita (19), daughter of Karunakara, a resident of Padi in Kadirudyavara village.
According to police, Nikhita was found hanging at her house on Wednesday. Family members and local residents alerted the authorities after discovering her. Police later visited the scene and initiated the required legal procedures.
Officials said the exact circumstances leading to her death are yet to be established.
Investigation underway
Police have stated that the reason behind the alleged suicide has not yet been ascertained. A case has been registered at the Beltangady Police Station, and further investigation is in progress.
