Kadaba: The results of the first Kadaba Town Panchayat election were declared on Wednesday, with the Congress party securing a clear majority by winning 8 out of 13 seats, while the BJP bagged 5 seats.

Counting began at 8 am and was completed by 9:45 am, delivering a swift outcome in the much-anticipated local body polls.

In the Kallara ward, Congress candidate Tamanna Zabeen clinched victory, while in the 8th Pijakkal ward, BJP’s Dayananda Gowda P defeated Congress rival Ashraf Shedigundi. BJP’s Kusuma won in Kodibail ward, and Congress’ Krishnappa secured Mooraje ward.

Congress candidate Mohammed Faizal triumphed in Panya ward, while BJP’s Akshata Manimund was elected from Kodimbala ward. In Bedraje ward, Congress’ C.J. Simon won, and BJP’s Gunavathi claimed Doddakoppa ward.

Congress strengthened its tally further with Mohammed Hanif winning Maleshwara ward, Neelavati Shivaram in Kadaba ward, Krishnappa in Pulikukku ward, and Rohith Gowda in Panemajal ward. On the BJP side, Mohan emerged victorious in Majjaro ward.

With this result, Congress has gained control of the newly formed panchayat, marking a significant political milestone for Kadaba.
